About Us
Welcome to St Nicholas Church, Rawreth in Essex.
We are a small rural Church of England church between Chelmsford, Basildon and Southend-on-Sea.
Small we may be, but at the moment we are very aware of our history. Rawreth was the home of Lancelot Andrews who made a vital contribution to the translation of the King James Bible, published for the first time 450 years ago.
We would love to see you at any of our services. Our main weekly worship is a service of Holy Communion at 10 am on Sundays. On the first Sunday of each month we also say the traditional form of Evening Prayer, using the 17th century Book of Common Prayer, at 6.30pm. We also have small services of Morning Prayer on Monday to Friday at 8am and we broadcast the service of Compline at 8pm. Our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/groups/hrr.churches is the place to find live-streamed or recently recorded services, and breaking news.
Not sure what our services are all about? Why not come and see; you would be really welcome and we could chat about any questions or comments you have over coffee afterwards.
St Nicholas is a great place for Weddings and Baptisms and you would be really welcome. There are things that we would need to check out and talk about so please do get in touch as soon as possible so that we can meet up and talk about your service.
