Today we celebrate the great feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and rejoice in Jesus' triumph over death. This feast celebrates the day when the relic of the True Cross, found by St Helena, mother of the Emperor Constantine, was shown to the people in Jerusalem, and the day when it was shown by the Emperor Heraclitus to the people in Constantinople in AD 628, after rescuing it from Persian raids in Jerusalem. One of the hymns we sing today sums up the theme of the Mass: 'In the Cross of Christ I glory, towering o'er the wrecks of time....'

St Michael and all Angels' is a friendly multicultural church located in the heart of Walthamstow, very close to the vibrant high street.

We are no longer in interregnum at St Michael's and warmly welcome Canon Fred Ashford-Okai, our new priest in charge.  

We would like to thank all of those who have supported St Michaels during our interregnum helping us reach and grow our church community, and look forward to growing even more.
