For some, Christmas is a difficult time. It may bring up upsetting or painful feelings for lots of different reasons. If you find this time of year difficult then this is the service of you.

For the first time we are hosting a Blue Christmas Service. It's very relaxed - none of the enforced jollity. This is a calm space for you to escape from everywhere that is busy and just be who you need to be.

We are still celebrating Christmas, but we are just celebrating it in a more peaceful and reflective way.

St John's Church in Farsley is a diverse, lively, energetic and enthusiastic congregation, committed to caring for the spiritual, pastoral and social growth of its people, with a strong presence in our community. 

We aim to serve all God’s children in worship, pastoral care and everyday life, offering a caring and nurturing environment for all to get to grow in the love of Christ. As we spread the good news of Christ through evangelism and good discipleship, we are always looking to invite new people into church as well as reaching out into our community and serving those in our neighbourhood.

Our parish of Farsley: St John the Evangelist is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO), Helen Whitaker.
