The church was packed with regular worshippers and folks from the local community, as well as visitors from other churches, as we welcomed Rev. Rachel and her family to Rawdon. We were especially delighted that children and parents from St. Peter's school were able to join us for this special occasion, as one of Rachel's focusses will be on supporting and strengthening links with the school. In a joy-filled service, led by Bishop Arun, Rachel tolled the bell and was given the keys to the church, to signify that she is now the vicar of Rawdon. The bible readings and songs, as well as Bishop Arun's sermons, reminded us of the importance of both prayer and justice in our Christian living. After the service, we enjoyed a great time of fellowship together in the Jubilee Hall... with plenty of cake!
