Church of England Diocese of Southwark Malden

St John the Baptist, Old Malden

The ancient church of St. John the Baptist sits in the far southwestern corner of the parish of Old Malden, high above the Hogsmill River just off Church Road.  A Christian presence in this community for over a thousand years, we are a dynamic collection of people from a wide variety of backgrounds, including many different church traditions both within the Church of England and beyond.  Our worship is relaxed, traditional with music and our choral tradition a vital part.  Our theology is open and inclusive, viewing the wealth of Scripture through the lens of the love of Jesus Christ.  We seek to be a spiritual home for all ages and to nurture each individual's own unique journey of faith.  Everyone is welcome here!

"Our parish of Malden: St John the Baptist is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer (PSO). Our Diocese of Southwark’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO, Sally Pusey or Marie Mcguire at [email protected] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, Pamela Chisholm at [email protected] . If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
