About Us

St Mary's Church has served the Selly Oak community as its local Anglican Parish Church since the 1860's. It is a place where God is worshipped, where faith in modern life can be explored and where people can bring their troubles and their joys. We are always pleased to welcome new people into our committees to help organise church life.

Children and young people are nurtured through our Junior Church and our Youth Church Group. Other activities such as concerts, discussion groups, and social events from rambles to quizzes take place. We are fortunate to welcome into our congregation students visiting from around the world to attend the University. 

Music has always been an important part of our church life, and we welcome enquiries from those who would be interested in singing in our robed choir, including children and young people in key stage 2 and above.
