Ash Wednesday Joint Eucharist at St Alfege Church

Occuring
for 1 hour, 15 mins
Venue
The Chapel of St Peter and St Paul at the Old Royal Naval College
Address
Old Royal Naval College Greenwich, SE10 9NN, United Kingdom

Ash Wednesday is the first day of Lent, a season of self-examination, repentance and preparation for Easter. Since the Middle Ages, Christians have observed the start of Lent by having their foreheads marked in ash with the sign of the cross as a gesture of penitence and a recognition of mortality. This year, we will observe Ash Wednesday with a joint Choral Eucharist at the Parish Church of St Alfege, Greenwich. The service will include the Imposition of Ashes and last about an hour and fifteen minutes. All are very welcome.
