About Us

Like so many churches we in a Tier 4 area and severely restricted in our offer and spiritual support

St Mary's is currently open for private worship on Thursdays, Sundays and Mondays from 9am to 4pm.

Please observe the Covid19 cleaning protocols to minimise the spread of the virus.

As noted in other areas of this site, we are pleased to welcome the Rev Alex Wheatley as our new incumbent.

Meanwhile the Benefice Church Wardens continue to do a brilliant job, including preparing a Temporary Service Pattern and agreed by the 3 PCCs and the Diocese.

In normal times St Mary's is an intergenerational church. We value and welcome people of all ages and at all stages of their Christian faith, by offering a wide ranging menu of services.

If you feel able to offer financial support, we would be most grateful. Our Account Number is 65345483 and Sort Code 089299. Thank you.

The parish of Potton is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of St. Albans’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.

Please keep us in your prayers, as we wish everybody all they wish themselves in 2021, remembering the inspirational and aspirational words from "O Holy Night", “A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn”
