What does it mean for us to take up our cross, deny ourselves and follow Jesus? 

The cost of discipleship means letting go of the preoccupations and ambitions that often control our lives, and instead live in a way that serves the Kingdom of God. The joy of living the Kingdom life  is both liberating and costly. 

 It is estimated 340 million Christians suffer persecution and discrimination as the cost of following Jesus (source Open Doors).
