Church of England Diocese of St.Albans Hitchin

St Mary's Hitchin

St Mary's Hitchin has been a place of worship for over a thousand years. St Mary's is a member of The Inclusive Church Network and all are welcome to our services and events and as visitors.

Like many churches at the moment, we have lost significant income from cancellation of events , hall lettings etc. We receive no central funding and our activities depend on the generous giving of our congregation and wider local community. If you are able to support us with a donation to help us keep thriving, please follow the 'giving' link on our front page - and thank you.

The parish of Hitchin is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of St.Albans’ safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
