In Church House

We are an Inclusive Church and welcome all. Do let it be known to a Sidesperson or Church Warden if there are ways we can assist in you participating in the service.

There is (very limited) provision for those less mobile to park in the churchyard. This is accessed via the High Street and then through the market square.

Defibrillator

Entrance to the church is flat, but we do have a ramp to enable you to visit all sections of the church. There is a ramp available too for Church House.

We have large print hymn books and service sheets.

Our Building

We are a Grade 1 listed building.


Music and Worship

The bells are rung on Sunday mornings and evenings and other festivals. A peal is also rung on New Year's Eve and occasionally at other times.

We are a concert venue and welcome many from soloists to orchestras. Contact us through the parish office in Church House if you would like to make a booking.

A 3 manual Walker & Sons organ rebuilt and repaired in 2008/2009. There is also a linked 2 manual mobile console.

Our Book of Common Prayer services are

8am Holy Communion during Advent and Lent
11.15am Holy Communion on second and fifth Sundays
11.15am Mattins on fourth Sundays
6.30pm Evensong or Evening Prayer

The choir sings regularly at the 9.35am Sung Communion and Evensong, and occasionally for additional special services. If you are interested in joining our choir we have vacancies for children aged 7 and above. There are also occasional vacancies for adults. Do come along and listen and find out more!

We have a part-time Children and Families worker. Our activities and services for children include:

- Seekers (Sunday School) at some of our 9.35 Sung Communion services in term time
- monthly Storyteller service for young children
- monthly family service "Third Sunday"
- children 7 and upwards can join our choir
- annual Nativity play

The church is open some of the time during the week, but times will vary. If you are coming specially to visit the church, please contact us first to check opening times during your visit, to avoid any disappointment.


Other Features

We serve Fairtrade Tea and Coffee after our 9.35am service.

We actively support our local Food Bank with a collection point within the church.

Contact us if you would like to hire Church House for a one-off or regular event.
