Many of us have enjoyed a week of sharing food and learning together as we 'Walk with Jesus' through Holy Week and into our Easter Sunday celebrations. Our call to deepen our faith doesn't just stop after big festivals such as these, it continues on as we transform into Jesus' likeness throughout our journey of life. Sharing in community with like-minded people is so important as we do this. We are inviting you to journey on with us beyond Easter as we run a course called 'Holy Habits'. It explores ten habits that are demonstrated in Acts 2 in the Bible. These habits are:*Biblical Teaching *Fellowship *Breaking of Bread *Prayer *Giving *Service *Eating Together *Gladness and Generosity *Worship and *Making of more DisciplesWe are running 2 courses - Wednesdays starting 3rd May at 10.15am at St Peter's Church, Mill End and Tuesdays, twice a month, 7.30pm in one of our Parishioners homes starting on Tuesday 25th April. The ministry team would like to encourage you to sign up and attend! You will have fun as we explore faith in a non-pressurised way within a loving community.Sign up at office.parish@btinternet.com.We can't wait to see you!
The Coronation will be a historic moment in the life of our nation, a time to reflect on our history, celebrate who we are and look to our future. At its centre is a Christian service in which His Majesty will be anointed as King. It will be rooted in longstanding tradition and Christian symbolism. We offer our prayers for King Charles III and the Royal Family for this important occasion. We would like to invite you to join us on Saturday 6th May to watch the coronation and enjoy a celebration coronation cream tea. Sunday 6th May we will be having a whole Parish Celebratory Service, 10.30am at St Peter the Apostle, WD3 7HQ followed by a Bring and Share Lunch in the Parish Hall. All welcome, always.
Why is the Walk with Jesus important? When we were baptised, we answered Jesus’ call to follow Him. Following meant literally following on behind - listening to what Jesus taught and seeking to imitate his actions and attitudes because you could see Him. We want to encourage each of you to walk with Jesus afresh. The week will give us a chance to listen to what Jesus teaches about some key parts of our faith - what do grace, forgiveness, prayer, and healing mean for us and how to recieve, experience and share in them ourselves. We are confident that come the end of the week, our desire to walk with Jesus on into the rest of our lives will be refreshed and renewed and hopefully you will feel encouraged.
