Following an interview on Tuesday 14th July, we are delighted to announce that Revd Melissa Carter has been appointed as 0.5 Part-Time Vicar of Renhold and 0.5 Part-Time Chaplain to Bedford School. As our Vicar, she will lead the ministry and mission of the Church as we go forward together. Melissa would like to share the following words:

“I am thrilled to be joining you soon as your new vicar. I was made to feel so welcome on my interview day, I am looking forward to ministering and worshipping alongside you and getting to know the wider community. The heart of my ministry has very much been pastoral and children’s ministry, so I am very keen to get to know the local school and families and support you in developing your children, young people and families services and events.

I am quite a contemplative person and I feel most spiritually connected with God in nature so the beautiful surroundings of Renhold will be a real blessing to me and my guide dog, Taylor. I will be moving up with my husband, Antony, and our other dog and three cats. I look forward to getting to know you all and may God bless us as we step together into this new chapter that he has planned for us”.

Melissa will be licensed on Wednesday 25th November (7:30pm) at All Saints, Renhold by the new Bishop of St Albans.
