Funerals and memorials

We know that losing someone you love is very difficult, and we are here to help you remember your loved one in the way that is right for you. Please do get in touch to discuss a service in church or at the crematorium.

A funeral or memorial service is an opportunity for friends and family to express grief together, marking the end of someone's life on earth and commending the person who has died to God's love and care. Every funeral or memorial service will be different, reflecting the uniqueness of the person and the memories that are shared. Everyone has the right to a funeral in their parish church, whether or not you or your loved one have attended church before.

Thanks to the hard work of the local Women's Institute in the 1980s and subsequent efforts by George and Ann Rowland, Colin Scott, Judy Lee and Roland Carpenter, the records of the graveyard, cremation areas and memorials and dedications inside the church have been carefully transcribed into the monument database. This can be accessed in spreadsheet form via this link.
