The tree surgeons have been to St. Mary's Church

The trees in St Mary's Churchyard, many quite elderly, play an important role in the life and health not only of the Churchyard itself, but of those who seek peace and relaxation under their boughs. They provide beauty, a habitat for wildlife and ability to absorb some carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Recently, the Churchyard team identified that work was needed to preserve and enhance the health of some of the finest trees, and engaged Branching Out to carry out important maintenance work.

To our delight, the Biggleswade Chronicle highlighted this work in a recent article by Tabitha Stebbings, and you can read Tabitha's article here:

This is not the first time Tabitha has written about the beautiful Churchyard in the Biggleswade Chronicle (see, for example, The Churchyard of St. Mary’s – A place of life published earlier this year.  We are immensely grateful to both Tabitha and the Chronicle for recognising the value of our Churchyard and the work that our volunteer team does to ensure it continues to benefit us all!
