Funerals

A funeral marks the end of a human life on earth. It is the opportunity for friends and family to express their grief and sorrow, but also to give thanks for the life which has completed its journey on earth, and to commend the person to God’s love and keeping.

A Church of England funeral may take place in church or in a crematorium chapel. When arranging a funeral, contact the Funeral Director as soon as possible, who will arrange the service at the Crematorium or in Church as well as contacting a member of clergy on your behalf. The member of the clergy conducting the service will arrange a time to visit you at home to discuss the service and help you to make necessary preparations.
