Church of England Diocese of St.Albans Ware

St Mary's Ware

For the time being the doors of our church buildings are to remain closed. This is to help all of us help each other limit the spread of COVID-19. It is a highly unusual step and not one that is taken lightly.

But while the buildings are closed the church is not. The prayer, worship and work of the church continues.

Please be assured that St Mary's continues to pray with and for you.

We will aim to keep services, readings, prayers and information updated on this website, and on our facebook page. Please join in as you are able with the worship and prayer offered through these means. You may also find the daily service on BBC radio and other broadcast worship helpful.

A pew leaflet for this week as been uploaded in the 'Notices' section of the website.

This week a Sunday Service will be offered live on facebook at 10am, and at 6:30pm you are invited to join an evening service here

On Wednesday the Eucharist will be offered at 11am, also on facebook. Materials for both these services can be found in the pages on the left of this screen.

This week's readings, read by members of St Mary's, and a recording of the homily (sermon) for the week are also here on separate pages.

Our young people's leaders are creating a virtual art and reflection display, which you can view here: To contribute use the 'contact us' email on this website.

If you would like to contribute to the work of St Mary's please follow the online giving link below.

Let us pray:

The Collect (prayer) for Pentecost Sunday

God, who as at this time taught the hearts of your faithful people by sending to them the light of your Holy Spirit: grant us by the same Spirit to have a right judgement in all things and evermore to rejoice in his holy comfort; through the merits of Christ Jesus our Saviour, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen

A prayer for all those affected by COVID-19

Keep us, good Lord, under the shadow of your mercy. Sustain and support the anxious, be with those who care for the sick, and lift up all who are brought low, that we may find comfort knowing that nothing can separate us from your love in Christ Jesus our Lord. Amen.

We are always looking for new ways to raise funds to keep this church running and for special causes. In line with this we have become an Amazon affiliate. This means that if you are considering buying something online through Amazon and if you go there from our site (by clicking here) en-route to your purchase, The church will receive a small percentage of the price paid. It will not affect the price you pay.
