Ascension Day marks the 40th day of Easter and the penultimate stage on our journey through the Easter Season. In this service we mark Jesus' return to his eternal home. This is a moment of celebration because the Ascension means that although Jesus no longer walks among us as one of us in a particular time and place, he is present with all of us, in every time and place - for ever. Our hymns and readings celebrate that, and after the service we will share a drink and a sparkler to continue that celebration and thanksgiving.
