‘Persuasion’ at Brockholds Manor 1st July:

DOT Productions is proud to present this new adaptation based on Jane Austen’s final novel ‘Persuasion’. This production is told in DOT's usual multi-roleplaying style and we hope it will delight all Austen fans.

The performance is on Saturday 1st July and you can book through Hugh or via the website (booking fee applies):

Brockholds. Gates will open at 5 p.m. Tickets include Prosecco on arrival and a two course Buffet supper. There will be a licensed Bar offering wine and Pimms, and coffee & tea will be available. They are £45 per head or £40 per person in a car of 4 persons or more. All profits from this year's performance will go towards the major works required on the roof of All Saints Church, Little Munden.

Alpha Course:

We will be joining in with the Alpha Course in Thorley on Wednesdays from 13 September. Please pray about this and especially if you can invite anyone along. We hope that we will be able to take a group from our benefice.

Fundraising in our churches:

The Friends of St Mary’s AGM will take place on 19th May in St Mary’s. As usual, we are looking for new members to step forward to join the organising committee, but we’d also love to hear from anyone who would be willing to help at our events, particularly those with more youth and physical strength than some of the current incumbents! Please speak to Diana if you’d like to know more.

We’re also starting up a Friends of All Saints (FOAS) organisation to help with fund raising and other events to support Little Munden. Again, we are looking for volunteers to step forward to help organise and run events. Please speak to Hugh or Deborah if you think that might be you.

Sacombe, too, is involved in its share of fundraising to help make financial ends meet. Although it has no official ‘Friends’ organisation, the Sacombe PCC folk would love to hear from anyone willing to help with their events. Please speak to Peter or Derek.

Coronation Evensong at St Michael’s:

On Sunday (14th May) at 6pm there will be a special service of Evensong at St Michael's Church Bishops Stortford to mark the coronation. Some of our choir will be taking part. All are welcome to attend the service.

Unwanted Keys:

Does anyone have any old unwanted door keys? If so, please can you give them to Diane who will be incorporating them in knitted Fiddle cuffs for people with dementia.

Website:

Our benefice website is on the www.achurchnearyou.com platform. The benefice page can’t currently be reached but you can find the three churches individually by going to https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/7825/ and clicking the links there.
