***Please note that this news update covers the whole of August. The next one will be 31st August, looking forward to September***
This weekend’s Bible readings:
Galatians 6:1-16 (p 1172) Luke 10:1-11 (p 1041)
Snacks and thanks:
John, Basma and Jack would like to invite you to the vicarage garden for snacks and thanks on Saturday 30th August 12.30 for 1 (finishing by 4). For catering reasons please sign the sheet at the back of each church, and also please bring your own chairs with you.
August’s Choral Evensong:
On Sunday 24th August, our benefice choir will welcome other singers to join them in a 'Come and Sing' service of Choral Evensong in St Mary's at 6pm. If you know of someone who would enjoy singing Evensong with us, please contact Michael Smith [email protected]. All are, of course, welcome in the congregation.
Sacombe picnic:
After the service in St Catherine’s on 31st August, we are all invited to bring a picnic and chairs and enjoy lunch in the churchyard (or in the church if the weather dictates). Hot and cold drinks will be provided.
Holiday Bible Club:
Esther: Queen of the West! This year’s wild west themed HBC will run on 26th to 29th August, between 10.00 am and 3.00 pm in St Mary’s. Because the church will be set up for the club, it will be locked while we’re not there. If you need access outside HBC times, please contact Caroline.
Quiz Night advance notice:
The Little Munden Quiz Night will be held on 13th September in Little Munden School. Please note the date in your diary. For tickets (at £15), please email [email protected].
Midweek Music:
Thank you to all who have supported the Midweek Music concerts this year. There is no Midweek Music in August. It returns on Wednesday 24th September when Margaret Goodall and Michael Smith will present a programme of music for trumpet and organ.
Farewell to John and Basma 28th September:
We will mark John and Basma’s last Sunday with us by holding a Songs of Praise service at St Mary's at 4pm on 28th September, followed by refreshments in church. We hope that as many of the church family and people in our community will join this time of worship and socialising so do spread the word!
