An evening with the Bishop and Eco pilgrims pondering pilgrimage and bio diversity

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Michael & All Angels, South Beddington
Address
Milton Road Wallington, SM6 9RP, United Kingdom

Please take a look at the attached poster and print or share if you can. The Bishop of Kingston will be stopping over on his week long pilgrimage to share in conversation with those of us locally interested in the care of the planet, bio diversity and our connection with the world on which we tread as pilgrims. All are warmly welcomed to come for an informal evening where we will be led by some wonderful speakers; Nick Dunne author of some great books on his experiences of pilgrimage and Robert Bourton, sustainability champion for Sutton. A group of local drummers who meet weekly thanks to the support of the Gary Mason Charity will also join and there will be plenty of drums for those who'd like to give it a go! Be lovely to share with one another our insights, challenges and experiences as we commit together to care for our planet, one another and the whole of creation. Here in Wallington we are surrounded by the most beautiful lands and it will be great to think how we might work together to tend, care and open up the joys and riches for those not already doing so, especially our young.

St Michael & All Angels, South Beddington

Do Join us for our weekly Parish Mass every Sunday morning at 10.30am.

St Michael & All Angels, South Beddington is one of two churches within our parish, the other being St Paul's on Roundshaw.  Both churches are in the modern Catholic tradition. St Michael's stands clearly and unashamedly in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, whilst St Paul's offers a somewhat less formal style of worship. Both churches have friendly congregations drawn mainly from the local communities and a number of our parishioners attend services and social activites across the two.  We are active in our local community, with strong links to 3rd Beddington Scout Group and growing links with our primary and secondary schools.  A weekly foodbank at St Michael's and Thursday children's club (St Mike's Tykes) as well as a lunch club for the elderly at St Pauls are just a few of the ways our faith is lived out in community through the week.

Our doors are open at both churches across the week (although not currently all day or every day) and you are welcome, whether you wish to sit quietly or join with others for prayer, worship and/or activities and chat.

For one-off special events and services, please go to the "Services and events" and "News and notices" sections (left). Select the "News stories" tab for current news and events or the "Notice sheets" tab for the weekly newsletter. Sign up to the e-mailing list (by contacting [email protected]) to receive every newsletter issue in your inbox as soon as it's published.
