All Souls - a reflective service to remember those we love yet see no more

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St Paul's, Roundshaw
Address
Mollison Drive, Roundshaw Estate Wallington, SM6 9HG, United Kingdom

All Souls is part of the Hallowtide tradtion of the church - a day when we gather to remember all whom we love but see no more. Here in the parish we offer two options of services. This is the first, on Saturday afternoon in the heart of Roundshaw. During the simple service where we hope those familiar or not with church settings are led in a time of prayer, reflection, remembering and invited to hear the name of their loved one read aloud (in what we call a roll call) and to come light a candle. A lit candle being a visible sign of remembrance. The service will run for about 45 minutes and you are welcome to come simply sit amongst neighbours and strangers or to join more intentionally in the prayers and time of relection. All are welcome - please write the name of your loved one on the sheet as you enter the church - doors will be open from 3.30.

St Michael & All Angels, South Beddington

Do Join us for our weekly Parish Mass every Sunday morning at 10.30am.

St Michael & All Angels, South Beddington is one of two churches within our parish, the other being St Paul's on Roundshaw.  Both churches are in the modern Catholic tradition. St Michael's stands clearly and unashamedly in the Anglo-Catholic tradition, whilst St Paul's offers a somewhat less formal style of worship. Both churches have friendly congregations drawn mainly from the local communities and a significant number of our parishioners participate in services, missional and social activities across the two.

We aim to be inclusive churches, welcoming everyone, whatever their age, ability, race, sexuality or relationship status and regardless of how much or how little faith they may have.  If you have any anxiety about coming through the door please reach out to our Vicar who will be more than glad to meet with or speak with you and accompany you along the way until you feel at home.

Safeguarding

"Our parish of South Beddington & Roundshaw is committed to safeguarding children, young people and adults from harm. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officers (PSO). Our Diocese of Southwark’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor who advises our PSO. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the PSO [Jenina Namweru or Sally Page] or the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor [Pamela Chisholm, 020 7939 9423 or out of hours 020 3874 6743]. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority’s children or adult social care services."
