Congregations from Bluntisham, Colne, Earith, Holywell and Needingworth as well as Northolt and Bedford, gathered together on Sunday 17th March in St Mary’s church BcE, to celebrate the installation of Meridian Benefice’s new vicar, Revd Valmor Pimenta.Rt Revd Dagmar Winter, Bishop of Huntingdon and Acting Bishop of Ely, and Ven. Richard Harlow, Archdeacon of Huntingdon and Wisbech, officiated and we heard how much his previous parish have valued his ministry from Northolt’s churchwarden Garth Williams. Valmor was welcomed to his new parishes by the Rural Dean, representatives from the congregations and also local councils and Bluntisham Baptist Church.Although an issue with an electrical circuit meant the organ stopped working, a joint choir led by Matt Sampson strongly led the singing of some favourite hymns as well as an a capella anthem: Mozart’s ‘Ave Verum’ and then we all joined together afterwards for glasses of Prosecco and plates of teatime treats. We look forward to seeing what the Lord will do in our communities in the coming years.
