About Us

Welcome to the church of St Katharine, part of the parish of Southbourne-on-Sea. Our guiding ambition, along with the other two churches in our parish, is that we are a Welcoming, Worshipping, and a Wondrous place to be. 

There are various traditions of worship in the parish. St Katharine’s is traditionally Anglo-Catholic, valuing scripture, teaching and sacramental life. The Eucharist, more commonly known as Mass in this church, is central to the community’s worship. The ‘High Church’ liturgy here includes processions, the use of bells, incense and candles, and is intended to appeal to one's whole person - to heart as well as to head, and to senses as well as to intellect.

Whichever of the churches in the parish you come to, and whether you come as a family, a couple, or alone, we know that you will find a welcome, and hopefully friendship among us, and enjoy being part of our church family as together we worship the one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
