<b>Director of Music and Choir Church Leader</b><b></b><br>St Martin’s Dorking is the civic church for the town and seeks to be a beacon of faith and hope in the local community.<br>We are a church with a long and rich musical tradition that wishes to revive and rejuvenate our musical activities and outreach. We want both to grow our regular church choir, and also to work in partnership with local schools in the parish to encourage singing and music.<br>For this post we seek a candidate who can strengthen and grow the existing choir, and also engage with local schools to build church music projects in and after the school day. We want to appoint a Director of Music with an infectious enthusiasm for singing and choral music, who would like to teach and support others as they engage with the joy of creating music.<br>The post is offered on the basis of 0.4 FTE with half of that time allotted to choir rehearsals and church services, and one day a week spent on musical activities in schools. Annual remuneration is £17500 plus fees for occasional offices and pension contribution.<br>St Martin’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. The new St Martin's Insitute of Theology is a new parish initiative to promote the discussion of theology, history, politics, sociology and ethics in the Anglican context. We host a range of speakers and academics to cover a range of topics. Seminars take place monthy at 6pm on the third Sunday of the month.Seminars are open to all, regardless of church affiliation. Refreshments are provided.
