While restrictions related to the Coronavirus pandemic kept away many of the Church of England’s summer chaplains to St Olaf’s, the local Norwegian priest succesfully mobilised members of the local community for prayers and Gospel readings to continue in Norwegian.

«It’s wonderful to arrive from Oslo to find this beautiful church so well used and cared for,» remarked the Anglican Senior  Chaplain in Norway, Canon Joanna Udal when arriving for this summer’s  chaplaincy in Balestrand.  «It’s a great example of the Porvoo Agreement between our Anglican and Lutheran churches and it has kept the flame of prayer alive.  Our gratitude to all involved.»
