Bishop of Newcastle Approves Historic Boundary Change for All Saints Church

A significant and celebrated change has been formally approved by the Bishop of Newcastle, extending the parish boundary of All Saints Church, Gosforth, to include the St Nicholas Hospital Estate. The historic decision means that residents of the estate can now be fully integrated into all aspects of All Saints, including weddings, baptisms, and funerals and more.

The successful ratification of the boundary alteration highlights a commitment to serving the spiritual and communal needs of local residents. The inclusion of the St Nicholas Hospital Estate is seen as a vital step in integrating the community more closely with the historic All Saints Church.

The Rev. Canon Andrew Shipton, speaking on behalf of All Saints Church, expressed great joy at the news. "This is a truly wonderful moment for our parish and for the residents of the St Nicholas Hospital Site," he stated. "We are absolutely delighted that we can now fully welcome our neighbours for all of life's significant milestones.”

The church is already looking forward to a full event calendar for Autumn and the Christmas Season and they are really excited to welcome their new parishioners from the St Nicholas Hospital Estate, promising a new chapter of shared community, worship, and service.
