BENEFICE LUNCH AND DISCUSSION: WEDNESDAY 12th August. We will begin with a lunch consisting of bread, cheese, ham, fruit juice, coffee and cake. This will be followed, around 12:45, by some discussion of Saints and social reformers whom the church remembers that week: The Blessed Virgin Mary; Clare of Assisi (Founder of the Poor Clares); Florence Nightingale (nurse and social reformer); and Octavia Hill (social reformer). We will discuss what we might learn from their lives and example, and how we might be inspired by their lives and witness.Please let Tom know if you would be willing to research one of these figures, and give a brief summary (2-3 minutes) of their life and work. Please also let Tom know if you hope to attend, so that he knows how much food to provide. Thank you.
We are delighted to be open again for public worship following a period of closure during lockdown and we look forward to welcoming you at a Sunday service soon. A booklet detailing our safety measures and how our services are currently differing from 'normal' is available for you to read on arrival. We encourage you to wear a face mask if you are able to do so. We are open dailt, 10am – 5pm for private prayer. You are most welcome to enjoy our church for prayer or just a moment of quiet. We kindly ask that you: • Sign in on entry • Use the hand sanitiser provided immediately on entry and again before leaving • Keep a distance of 2 metres from any other visitors at all times • Avoid touching any items or surfaces unnecessarily A Sunday Eucharist continues to be held online via Zoom for anybody who is shielding or does not feel ready to return to our church building.
