Church of England Diocese of Exeter Goodrington

St George, Goodrington

Services in church at St George's, Goodrington, and St Mary's, Collaton St Mary have returned to the usual times as they were before the Covid-19 pandemic.   From Sunday 4th July, the Sunday morning Parish Eucharist at St George's is celebrated as one service starting at 11am - there is no longer any need to split the congregation into 2 groups.  At St Mary's, the time of the Sunday Parish Eucharist remains at 9.15am.  Some arrangements for maintaining Covid-security have been retained as we move into Level 4 of the Government plan with the lifting of legal restrictions on 19th July: these are listed in the risk assessment that can be down-loaded from the 'Church opening - risk assessment' page on this website.  The wearing of facemasks is encouraged and expected at all services.

For more information, and contact details for enquiries, see the Mission Community Newsletter that can be downloaded from the Newsletter page.

The churches are open for individual private prayer between 10am and 3pm: St George's is open daily except Saturdays, and St Mary's, Collaton St Mary, is open at weekends.

Eucharist, following the order of Common Worship (in contemporary language). The Eucharist takes place every Sunday at 11am. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the Eucharist is a mainly spoken service, with organ music, but following the lifting of restrictions on 19th July, hymn singing (at moderate volume) will be reintroduced. Other provisions for maintaining Covid-security are in place, including the seating arrangement, masks and sanitisers. See the risk assessment for more details.
