Group Service for Rogation Sunday

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
St John the Evangelist
Address
St John the Evangelist, Countisbury Lynton, EX35 6NE, United Kingdom

Rogation Sunday is the tradition of asking for God's blessing on agriculture and industry and also of 'beating the
bounds' which also reinforced the Parish boundaries. It falls on 5th Sunday after Easter.

You are invited to meet at St John the Evangelist, Countisbury at 10am on Sunday 31st May to either sit and enjoy
the peace and tranquility of the Church and grounds or to walk up Countisbury Hill, as a group, asking for blessings
for flourishment of agriculture and people and to beat the bounds, before returning to St John the Evangelist for a
Service.
St John the Evangelist, Countisbury and Countisbury Hill is the best placed location within the Lyn Valley Mission
Community to effectively overlook all of the other parishes (Brendon, Lynmouth, Lynton, Barbrook, Parracombe,
Martinhoe and Trentishoe).

St Mary the Virgin

Welcome to St Mary the Virgin Lynton. One of the churches of the Lyn Valley Mission Community, eight rural churches in the very north of Devon where Exmoor meets the sea. Our usual, main Sunday service is Holy Communion at 11.00am, where everyone is welcome. The service is followed by a gathering for coffee where we look forward to meeting you.

If you are on holiday and visiting the area, you will be very welcome to join any of our services while you are staying here.

You can read the latest Lyn Mission monthly newsletter in the News and Notices tab under Notice sheets.

We are now pleased to incorporate Bubble Church into our monthly services on the fourth Sunday of the month. Bubble church is for infants, toddlers and their families. We would really love to see you at our sessions.
