We now have a book of condolence in Christ Church for anyone wishing to express their thoughts and feelings. Thank you to David and Carol Brunner for setting this up. The church continues to be open during daylight hours for anyone looking for a quiet place to sit and think and perhaps pray.
Dear Friends, Across our nation and at many of the churches of our Mission Community, the church bells tolled at midday yesterday to mark the death of Queen Elizabeth II. We find ourselves in the midst of a time of national mourning and for many the death of the Queen is being felt more keenly than they could have anticipated. She was so central to our national life, not just because of her constitutional role, but because of the virtues with which she served, at the heart of which was her faith. Bishop Robert said yesterday: “I find it so poignant standing here listening to the passing bell of the Cathedral. “We mark her death as Christian people with a sense of hope, something that Queen Elizabeth embodied in her entire life, her faith in Christ. “I pray for her – may she rest in peace and rise in glory.” May this be our prayer too God bless, Samantha
Dear Friends,Across the nation today at midday bells will be tolled to mark the death of Queen Elizabeth. I will be in Lynton church for an hour of silent prayer through that time (12-1pm) should anyone wish to join with this in person, or in your own home. We entrust her to God.We give thanks for her service to the nation and her deep example of faith as head of our church. We pray for her family, especially for King Charles III as he takes on the responsibilities of Head of State.God blessSamantha
