Big Garden Birdwatch is the world’s largest garden wildlife survey. It is run by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds. Every year, hundreds of thousands of nature lovers take part, helping to build a picture of how garden birds are faring. In 2025, a total of 590,000 people took part - and counted over 9 million birds!
The top 5 species recorded last year were:
* House Sparrow
* Blue Tit
* Wood Pigeon
* Starling
* Blackbird
This year, consider coming to All Saints' Churchyard to do your survey. It will help us see how we are doing at encouraging the birds in the Churchyard, with our all year round sunflower seed feeders under the yew tree.
How to take part
* Download the Guide attached here or from the RSPB website.
* Spend an hour watching the birds in your garden or in the Churchyard, between 23 and 25 January, and record the birds that land.
* Tell the RSPB what you saw (even if that’s nothing at all)! You can submit your results online or by post.
