Harvest Festival Service

Occurring
for 1 hour
Venue
East Grimstead: Holy Trinity
Address
East Grimstead East Grimstead, SP5 3SH, United Kingdom

The service is for everyone and will be family friendly as we are delighted that Revd Ross Meikle is joining us from Salisbury Cathedral where he is the Missioner for Young People.

It would be lovely to see the church well attended for this service like it is on Christmas Eve and demonstrate its value as a precious community asset. There will be an opportunity afterwards to mingle and enjoy some light refreshments.

We are also collecting donations for the Trussell Trust; a charity which supports 1,300 food banks across the UK, including Salisbury. The items they are currently short of are: long life fruit juice; tinned veg; tinned meat meals; UHT milk; instant mash potato; sponge puddings; jam; chocolate; coffee; shampoo; deodorant; loo roll; washing powder.

Harvest is a pivotal moment in the food bank calendar. Warehouse stocks are often at their lowest just as demand increases in the run up to winter. Heating and jumpers go on....and people start skipping meals to pay the bills. If you wish to donate an item/s please bring to the church on the day OR drop off to Mary at Swallow House OR Lexie Whelan has kindly offered to collect in advance. Please email [email protected] for further details.

East Grimstead: Holy Trinity

Holy Trinity was built in 1857 on the site of a Saxon church and is a joint parish with St Mary's, West Dean. It is also part of the Clarendon Team of churches which extends westwards to Alderbury, northwards to Winterslow and southwards to Whiteparish. We are in the Diocese of Salisbury.

Our church nestles on the southern edge of East Grimstead on the corner of Dean Road. We would love to welcome you whether you are living, working or just visiting the village.

Holy Trinity is currently facing an uncertain future and possible closure unless significant funds are raised in 2025 for repairs and running costs. Please see 'News' and 'What's On' for further information about our fundraising campaign and events.
