We are pleased to welcome back onto the White Horse Team, Sharon Waggott who will be working as PA for the Team Rector, the Revd Rebecca Harris. Sharon was formerly our Team Administrator until April and then stepped back to spend more time with the family. She is returning to this role which is fewer hours and suits her well. It's great to have her back with us. She will be working for five hours per week on various admin tasks and supporting the Revd Rebecca. We are very grateful to the Fulmer Charitable Trust who fully fund this post.
We had a wonderful service of welcome and celebration of Revd Tracey's new ministry amongst us as our new Pioneer Team Vicar. It was a glorious day and around 200 people gathered in All Saints Church to meet Tracey and welcome her on the Team. Tracey brought her family, friends and colleagues from previous parishes. All our Team churches were well represented and local community leaders came forward to give an official welcome to our communities. The service was livestreamed on our YouTube Channel, so if you weren't able to be with us, you can watch it there. Following the service, tea was served in the parish hall and well over 100 people came along and enjoyed it!Tracey is settling well into her new role and is currently making her way round our local schools, events and services and starting to get to know everyone.If you would like to be in touch with her directly, her new email address is: PioneerTeamVicar@whtministry.org.uk and her new phone number is: 07474 944 063. Tracey hopes to be moving into the Vicarage in Dilton Marsh sometime over the summer. We shall let you know. Over these first few weeks, I've already been learning names, hearing stories, and beginning to discover something of the heart of this community. What I have found is this is a Benefice that care deeply about their faith, their Churches, and one another.It has been a real joy to see the children from our local schools Experience Pentecost and then to engage with so many at All Saints Summer Fete was great too. It’s brilliant to be joining in and I am so delighted to see how well Cafe Church is established in this Benefice too. Everything here seems to happen so seamlessly and with so much dedication and commitment. I am delighted to be here with you. Many of you have already greeted me warmly, offered encouragement, shared stories of church and community, you are beginning to invite me into your lives, and are helping me begin to feel at home. For all of that, I want simply to say: thank you.I look forward to getting to know many more of you, and I am excited to see how we will continue to seek and join in with God on his mission as we journey together.
