ECO EVENT 8 JUNE (The Great Big Green Week)

Whole Parish and community ECO-event at St Mark's Church
8th June 2024 10am-2pm

The Great Big Green Week will take place this year between 8th and 16th June 2024. It will see people across the country join together in a nationwide celebration of action to protect the planet, showing that people everywhere across the UK are making swaps every day to help create a better tomorrow.

St Mark’s Church is hosting an ECO event (organised by the Eco-Church group) to include information and displays from local organisations and individuals who are working towards helping to protect our planet. There will be some short talks, a plant sale, bric-a brac, books and clothing sale and ECO friendly tombola (to raise funds towards ECO friendly church projects), children's activities, lunch and refreshments too.

Stalls and displays from the following: Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, Wiltshire Climate Alliance, Devenish Bradshaw Trust, Medic to Medic, Kindness Naturally, Christian Aid, Fairtrade, Extinction Rebellion and ECO Hub, Share Salisbury, Salisbury Community Energy, Men's Shed and Project Uganda, Recycled Greetings Cards, Salisbury and Wilton Swifts, Futureproof (Centre for Sustainable Energy), A Rocha, Godolphin School and Wyndham Park Infant's School. 

Also a plant stall, books and bric-a-brac/clothing etc, recycling and ECO Tombola.

Children's activities: Leaf threading, seed bombs, seed planting, colouring, junk modelling.

Refreshments:  Tea/coffee and cakes throughout the day and Lunch at 12noon (Soup and a roll).  

The event is FREE and family friendly.
