We are a family friendly church community who aim to be ‘Serving Jesus,Each other,Our World’. What does this mean? That’s a good question, and one which we are actively exploring. Primarily we desire to be rooted in Christ and engaged in His mission to the World. Our concern is to see disciples grown through prayer, worship, teaching and service in order that those disciples are equipped to live out their faith and share the love of Jesus with others.
There are two congregations in our parish, one meeting at St.Mark's the other at St.Andrew's in the adjoining village of Laverstock. For details of their services look for St.Andrew's Laverstock SP1 1QX. https://www.achurchnearyou.com/church/9584/
The church is not a building, it is, as the cliché goes, the people. The building is simply the place where the church meets. Jesus taught us that, as Christians, His Father is also our Father, and so we are his brothers and sisters together in God's family. Since St. Mark's is a growing family that values Bible teaching, prayer and good relationships, we have divided ourselves up into a number of Home Groups. These groups mostly meet on a weekly basis in order to study the Bible together and to support, care and pray for one another.
You will find a variety of worship styles and services incorporating the best of the traditional and contemporary, but always with an informal, relaxed and open approach. Our sincere hope and our heart’s desire is that you will find a warm welcome and meet with our living God here in this family friendly church.
St. Mark's church is located beside the ring road, on the north eastern side of the city of Salisbury in Wiltshire (England). It's a big, old building, but don't let this put you off! We aim to offer a warm welcome (and frequently, a coffee) to one and all.
The Parish is looking forward to welcoming Rev. Andy Bousfield as its new Vicar on November 14th, in the meantime Non-stipendary clergy are available to offer advice and support. Initial contact in this transitional period should be made with the Parish Office Tel. 07933952171 or email [email protected]
