Holy Saturday Liturgy of Light

Occurring

Venue
St Bartholomew & All Saints, Royal Wootton Bassett
Address
High Street Royal Wootton Bassett, SN4 7BQ, United Kingdom

In Jewish and Christian liturgical tradition the day starts not at midnight but at sundown. So we start to celebrate Easter on Saturday evening.
The Easter Vigil marks the first official celebration of the resurrection of Jesus – powerful scripture readings and beautiful liturgical traditions. The service begins outside with the kindling of the Easter fire and the lighting of the new Easter/Paschal candle, symbolizing the light of the risen Christ coming into the world.
