Welcome Reader,
Saint Nicholas church is found at the very heart of the village of Southfleet, accessed by a short walk up Church Road, where the picturesque building stands proud in a very well kept graveyard. There has been a church here since Saxon times, with the present church built around the early part of 1300's.
We invite everyone to attend our weekly services and join with our congregation in worshipping God. There is a splendid organ to accompany the singing of hymns along with our choir of voices.
Saint Nicholas is also a popular choice for Baptisms and Weddings. This church is for everyone to attend or just visit, come and enjoy the serenity of the surroundings.
Saint Nicholas partners with Saint Barnabas church in Istead Rise and we have one Priest in Charge who takes services in each church on alternate weeks and Lay representation in the intervening weeks. When the month has a fifth Sunday then we all come together as one and celebrate the service in either Southfleet or Istead Rise.
The parish of Southfleet: St Nicholas is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Rochester’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services.
