Baptisms - Christenings

If are enquiring about Baptism for your child.

First of all, we need to confirm that you live within our Parish boundary.

Click on this link to check if you are in our Parish A Church Near You.

Once this is done, we will need you to complete an application form. Please note that, although Godparents do not need to be confirmed, they do need to have been baptised within the Church of England. The details on the form are used to complete the baptism certificate and our church register so please print names clearly.

Once we have your form, I will be able to check that you live within our Parish boundary and if so, ask our Vicar Paul Filmer to contact you to arrange a time to meet up. He will want to get to know your family and to explore your understanding of baptism and its significance to you, and for him to explain how the church sees baptism and the promises you and the godparents make on behalf of your child.

Baptisms are held on Sunday afternoons, with close family attending church at 10 am service the following week to receive certificates and be welcomed and prayed for by the wider church family.

We do not charge a fee for Baptism service. but a plate is placed at the back of the church for any donations you might like to make.
