Filby Church is the largest in the South Trinity Broads Parish and has recently undergone a sympathetic major reordering project to install a new kitchen, vestry and toilets.  Two rows of pews from the north and south aisles have been removed to open up the space needed to embrace new forms of worship and better community use of the church, thus standing it is good stead for the future. The pew ends have been preserved in the building of the new vestry and cupboards and so the craftsmanship has been retained and is wonderfully displayed in this way for all to see.

Tower repair work and the installation of a new sound system are both underway.

The church dates from the 14th century (the first known rector was recorded in 1315).  It has a medieval rood screen which dates from the 15th century and is said to be one of the best surviving in the area.  The oldest item in the church is the font, made from Purbeck marble, which dates back to the 13th century.

Sunday services are normally held at Filby at 10.30am on the first three Sundays in the month.  The first Sunday is normally Morning Prayer and on the second and third Sundays Holy Communion is celebrated.

Morning Prayer is held at Filby on Saturday mornings at 9am.

Messy Church normally takes place at Filby on the second Thursday of the month after school from 3.15pm onwards.

At the present time the South Trinity Broads Parish is in interregnum and we hope to appoint a new Priest-in-Charge in late Spring 2017.   For all enquiries concerning services or the arranging of marriages, funerals or baptisms please contact Mrs Alston (01493) 369326
