Wellingham: St Andrew

Welcome to St Andrew's Church Wellingham.

We are a small rural Norfolk Church, here to serve God & our community

Deep in the heart of Norfolk there is no precise date for the founding of St Andrew's Church, but the experts believe that the nave was built by the Normans and the chancel was added in the 13th century.

The first firm date in St Andrew's history is 1304, when its first rector is recorded.

We have completed the current work on the roof and are very grateful to have received grants from the Norfolk Churches Trust, Churchcare/Wolfson Foundation; and the National Churches Trust towards towards the repair of the church roof. We also received a number of very generous gifts from individuals. We are grateful to all – thank you .

The parish of Wellingham: St Andrew is committed to the safeguarding of children, young people and adults. We follow the House of Bishops guidance and policies and have our own Parish Safeguarding Officer(s), PSOs. The Diocese of Norwich’s safeguarding pages contain vital links and information including contacts for the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor (DSA) who advise our PSOs. If you are concerned that a child or adult has been harmed or may be at risk of harm please contact the DSA. If you have immediate concerns about the safety of someone, please contact the police and your local authority Children or Adults Services
