As many of you will have noticed the interior woodwork on the roof covering the chancel was showing damage and the interior the northside was showing water coming in through the roof. We have also had birds nesting in the church as they have been able to get in through the holes in the roof!
Other than a few snagging issues the work is complete on the roof. We are very grateful to have received significant grants from The Norfolk Churches Trust; Wolfson Foundation Trust (from Church Care); and the National Churches Trust. We also received a number of very generous gifts from individuals. We are grateful to all – thank you.
We still have a small shortfall from the £35,000 needed which includes all the building work, but also the bat survey and conservation fees and will need to use our savings to cover this.
Thank you again to those who have made generous personal donations. If you have a justgiving account please log on to the account and search for Wellingham church roof – then click on the picture of the church and donate what you can. This is the easiest way to donate as if you are a UK tax payer we automatically get the tax added to the donation.
