Our Carol Service featuring a choir is one of the highlights of the Christmas season — a joyful celebration filled with well-loved carols, readings, and the timeless story of the birth of Jesus. Whether you have been coming to church for many years, haven’t been for a long time, or are simply curious to experience the wonder of Christmas in a traditional way, you will find a warm welcome here.

You don’t need to know the words or the tunes — just come and enjoy the music, the atmosphere, and the sense of community as voices join together in song. The service is family-friendly and open to all, offering a chance to pause in the busyness of December and to share in the hope and joy that Christmas brings.

We warmly invite you to join us, bring friends and family, and be part of this very special celebration.

Baconsthorpe: St Mary

According to the Doomsday Book of 1086 there was a church in Baconsthorpe. The current Church dates from the 14th century and is made of flint and stone. It is in good order and was completely restored in the late 19th century. It can seat over 200. There is an open area at the back of the church with a children’s play area and a table for general use, chairs may be placed there when required. Visitors greatly appreciate the Easter Sepulchre and the memorial to the Heydon’s who built Baconsthorpe Castle.
