Wherever we are on our journey in faith, prayer is a significant part of it. Prayer is for everyone, and everyone can pray. As part of living out our values in every corner of our diocese, Bishop Richard has called us all to join in a Year of Prayer in 2023. This invitation is offered to explore different ways of praying, there are activities to join in and opportunities to create your own prayers and prayer activities either as a church or as part of a small group, or in the quiet of your home. We hope through prayerful engagement across many communities, villages and towns of our diocese that lives will be transformed and that more people will come to know Jesus Christ. There will be the usual opportunities for prayer and worship within the Group and during Lent there will be an opportunity to learn and explore more about prayer, including The Ash Wednesday service at 7.00 pm at Ford Church on 22nd February.A Morning Prayer each Wednesday morning at 9 am in Ford Church. And our Thursday evening Prayer Adventure – looking, in 8 sessions at the Lord’s Prayer. It’s a prayer used by every generation of Christians since Jesus taught it. It is said right round the world in numerous different languages. It’s the prayer many can still remember when so many other memories have faded. The sessions of our exploration of this prayer will include specially produced videos, for details of each week see the events page.
