Bell Ringers and the Choir

The Bell Ringers

The Staplegrove tower ringers are members of the Bath and Wells Diocesan Association of Change Ringers. They ring for services, weddings, special occasions and festivals. Their tower captain is Mike Hansford and they practice on a Monday night at 7.30 pm.

There are currently eight ringers and the tower captain would like this number to increase to twelve, so that there are two ringers for each rope. Church bell ringing is open to all and Staplegrove tower welcomes new members from novice to expert. Learners are encouraged by expert and dedicated ringers who are there to help and advise.

It is a friendly place so why not come along and see what it is all about, you will be very welcome!

The Choir

The Choir at St John's is a small group of dedicated singers led by Elizabeth Hall, who give their time and talents to lead the worship of the Church.

They meet on a Friday evening at 6.45 pm in the Church to sing hymns and anthems and introduce new music to the services.  Singing is said to be relaxing and members ensure that choir practice is a time for fun and friendship.

If you can croak a few notes, reasonably in tune and would like to join the choir you will be more than welcome.

WANTED ALSO - Occasional singers to join the regular choir and swell the numbers at special events such as Easter, Harvest Festival or Christmas. You don't need to be able to read music, just help make a joyful noise to the Lord.
