RIDE AND STRIDE 2025

Ride and Stride with a difference! Once again supporting the Somerset Churches Trust.

Friday October 10th meeting in St. John’s Staplegrove Church Car Park at 9.30 to share cars for easier parking at All Saints, Norton Fitzwarren. 10am start from Norton Church, walking along the back lanes to the bridge over the railway. Across the bridge and follow the stream/river to Netherclay lane, then taking the footpath which runs along the back of St. Margaret’s Hospice to Longrun Meadow and then French Weir. Here we have the opportunity to have a coffee in the Café or perhaps bring a flask and sit by the river. Hopefully it will be a dry day??? From here we will again follow the river partway to St. Johns Church Park Street, where they will be holding their monthly lunch time concert at 12.45/1.30. The young musicians from Taunton School will be entertaining. Doors open at 12 and hot drinks are available and maybe take a sandwich to eat before the performance.

This is where the walk ends so perhaps stay in town for some lunch, walk to the Bus Stops Castle Way to catch the 25, 25A or 28 or walk to the parade and catch the Park and Ride back to Silk Mills road and then walk back to your cars.

For those wishing to cycle, please meet in St. Johns Staplegrove Church Car Park at 9.30, the ride ending for the concert in town at approx. 1200/1230. There will be a coffee stop along the way.

There will be a suggested donation of £5 for the Ride and Stride and the concert will also have a collection box for Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. Two very worthwhile charities. If you are unable to walk or cycle and would like to support the Ride and Stride there will be a donation box at the Staplegrove Saturday morning Church coffee the following day.

Hoping you will be able to join us or support this fundraiser. If you require any more details please ring Heather or Peter on 01823 289128
