On Saturday 9th May, we at St Mary's Church are holding our Spring Fair. This is a fun event suitable for the whole family. Among the many interesting stalls, there will be cakes, pies, games, refreshments, hot dogs, and a chance to buy some beautiful handmade items created by our very own crafters! Then this year's Diocesan Lent course from Bishop Philip is for you! ‘Knowing Jesus’ focuses on key moments in the book of Acts to help us know Jesus while tying in with the Diocesan Centenary focus of ‘All for Jesus’. ‘This series will help us to know about Jesus as we seek to understand more about who he is, what he has come to do and how he sets us free. It's that time of year when, in farms up and down the country and across the world, farmers are bringing the harvest home. Here at St Mary's Church, Blackpool, we are looking forward to holding our annual Harvest Thanksgiving celebration service to thank God for His provision of another harvest. Date: Sunday 5th OctoberTime: 10.00amVenue: St Mary's Church, Blackpool, Stonycroft Avenue, FY4 2NR. All are welcome. The food that is donated will be going to the foodbank at Holy Cross Church and to Streetlife - both charities helping the most vulnerable people in our community. Any monetary donations will go to The Salvation Army in Blackpool, who bring the harvest bounty to those struggling in our community.
Chas & Dave, our resident quizmasters, have been hard at work putting together a brilliant quiz night for us on Saturday 27th September at 7.00pm. With questions drawn from the last 5 decades, it will be a fun time for all the family. Try to beat the vicar on music questions! Bring your own nibbles and drinks. Only £3 entry.
