Our warm welcome at St Mary's Church extends to our Church Hall where we have 2 large rooms available for hire.
Ground Floor Room
This generously proportioned room with double height ceiling can be used as a whole, or subdivided using our built-in full length partition screen. The huge windows that run along the north and south side of the room flood the area with natural daylight. The useable dimensions are approximately 28ft or 8.5m wide and 54ft or 16.5m long. If choosing to divide the room into 2 smaller ones, then this would create 2 spaces that are roughly half the length of the original dimensions. The floors are wooden. NB when hiring this room, the cost will be for the whole space only; we are sorry, but we do not let the area as a half space.
There is a kitchen available with space for 4 people to work comfortably. It has a serving hatch that communicates to the hall with a dropped ledge counter. Within the kitchen there are some useful resources available such as teapots, cups and saucers, crockery, glasses and cutlery. We have 3 hot water flasks as well as a microwave, electric cooker (4 ring, domestic), fridge/freezer (single door, domestic size), toaster and kettle.
There are 60 chairs available to use in the hall along with 7 large collapsible tables (6ft/1.82m long) and 6 smaller ones (3ft/0.91m long).
There are 2 unisex toilets and 1 disabled toilet on the Lytham Road entrance.
The Ground Floor Room can be accessed from both Mayfield Avenue and the Lytham Road. There are no steps at either entrance. The Mayfield Avenue entrance has a covered walkway, and while there is no car park on this side, there is a small drop off area for e.g. larger items if these are being carried by car. There is a small car park at the Lytham Road entrance which could fit up to 8 cars and street parking in the surrounding area.
The Upper Room
Like the Ground Floor Room, our beautiful Upper Room has huge windows that run along the north and south side, flooding the area with natural daylight as well as generous lighting. The floors are wooden. The dimensions are slightly larger than an average badminton court, being approximately 29ft or just under 9m wide and 45ft or just over 13.5m wide. Electricity sockets can be found along the east wall, at the entrance to the room. Chairs and tables are available upon request - just let us know what you need!
There are male and female toilets on this floor at the top of the stairs, just outside the room entrance.
Our Upper Room can be accessed from the ground floor via the Mayfield Avenue entrance vestibule. There are 2 short flights of stairs (13 steps, then 9 steps). The stairwell is open, brightly lit and benefits from daylight from a generously proportioned window at the top.
