Welcome to St Wilfrid's a friendly parish church situated in the stunning Lune Valley. It is part of the joint parishes of St John the Baptist, Tunstall and St Peter's, Leck and is a member church of the Benefice of East Lonsdale. St Wilfrid's church, Melling is a Grade 1 listed building. The earliest fabric in the church dates from around 1300 or earlier but as it is near the earthworks of a motte-and-bailey castle, it is possible that a church has been on the site since the 10th century. Promoting a Safer Church

We also display the Promoting a Safer Church poster prominently within our church. This is in the entrance hall to Church along with relevant phone numbers and contact details.
All those working with children and adults at risk have undergone safer recruitment and received safeguarding training.

Any safeguarding concerns in a parish should be brought to the attention of your local Parish Safeguarding Officer(s) (PSO) in the first instance.
