Join us on Rogation Sunday for Choral Matins: a sung version of Morning Prayer featuring the St Oswald's Voices choir, followed by prayers in the churchyard for our community and seasonal refreshments.

Rogation is an ancient church festival to seek blessing for a community and its sustenance.

God, teach us your children how to love your world so that we are careful stewards- of your creation. On this Sunday when we remember especially the countryside and all who work there, we pray for farmers, growers, all who tend the livestock and all who by their labour here and in every place, bring food to us.

Rogationtide is a time of asking: for God’s blessings on crops and livestock during the Spring growing season. They are days of fasting and prayer, focusing on the earth, agriculture, and human dependence on God, and the three days following Rogation Sunday commemorate Jesus' final days on earth before his Ascension.
